“Music is an art of poetry; and poetry is the raw form of music, especially popular music. A song that transcends times is for its lyrics. A good poet evokes emotions, feelings and experiences that you may have had in the past… A master poet/true poet does that, but he/she makes you view the world in a different way.He/She makes you feel his/her experiences even if you haven’t experienced them.He/She makes you cry and laugh and stare in awe at his/her word choice, imagery and rhyme, while you get transported to another realm where time stops for awhile.”
The Art of Musical Poetry
The only thing
that's worse
than the fragmentation
of music
and poetry
is when we
-in fragmentation-
try to unite them

What a beautiful accidental find at the end of my day. We have two singers in the family, and they sang several Gjeilo pieces in high school, including “The Ground” at Kansas all-state high school level choir this past spring. I’ve listened to that piece at least a hundred times and still get chills every time. Thank you for the post.

Oh my God. I’m very jealous. I’ve actually emailed Ola and he was very humble and very generous! I want to sing/conduct this mass so badly! Thank you very much for replying, and I hope you like my posts. 🙂
